1. General information
The subject Final Degree Project (DFP) is coherent with the objectives and general approaches of the Degree in History, in which it is included, whose design represents a proposal to provide students with a general training in this field through the acquisition of reasoned knowledge and critical understanding of the past of Humanity and of our present; to famliarise them with the instruments of access to historical information; as well as to initiate them in the problems, techniques and methods of scientific work oriented both to the preparation for the exercise of activities of a professional nature and, if necessary for postgraduate studies.
These approaches and objectives are aligned with the following Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda of the United Nations (2030 Agenda (https://www.un.org/sustainabledevelopment/es/).

2. Learning results
In order to pass this subject, students must demonstrate the following learning results:
Organizes complex historical information in a coherent manner and interprets it in a reasoned way.
Express themselves and argue orally and in writing in Spanish, using the concepts, vocabulary, terminology and techniques of the historian.
Relates past historical processes to the present and thinks critically about the realities of the present and the past.
Perceives social complexity and cultural diversity, developing a critical tolerance for positions derived from other value systems
Understands the complexity of past social processes in terms of scale, i.e., the interaction between micro- and macro-social phenomena
Expresses themselves in another foreign language using the vocabulary and terminology proper to the historian.
Applies their knowledge to their work or vocation in a professional manner.
Develops their own autonomy in the organization of work when deciding on future higher studies in the field of history.
Performs professional work with an attitude consistent with respect for fundamental rights and the principles of equal opportunity and equality between men and women, and in accordance with democratic values.
3. Syllabus
Each student will choose a topic for their final project, within the lines of research offered annually and in agreement with their director.
4. Academic activities
Once the DFP topic has been defined, under the supervision of the assigned director, the written report and the oral defense will be prepared. The director of the DFP will propose and define the teaching activities, as well as the methodology thatthey considers appropriate for the adequate achievement of the objectives proposed at the beginning of theterm.
Regardingthe format of the written report, the minimum length will be 1000 words per ECTS credit of the subject, andit may also incorporate the annexes deemed necessary. The maximum length will be set by the Commission of Quality Assessment of the Degree, which is currently set at 2000 words per ECTS credit, i.e. double the minimum length. The tutor will verify that the DFP does not exceed the maximum length in any case. The descriptive report of the DFP will be composed of the following elements: a) Initial summary; b) Introduction: justification of the work, state of the question, objectives and methodology applied; c) Analytical development; d) Conclusions; and e) List of sources, bibliography and resources or materials used.
5. Assessment system
First call.
- Global assessment test:
a) Preparation, presentation and public defense of the written report.
b) Criteria: quality of its structure and contents, demonstrated ability to propose hypotheses and use the appropriate methodologies, critical capacity, linguistic correctness, and, in general, level of achievement of the degree competencies.
The defence of the DFP will take place within the dates of the calendar approved annually by the center.
The teachers in charge of each DFP will evaluate the work and will grade it numerically, up to a maximum of 10, and qualitatively, up to a maximum of Outstanding. The incorporation of the qualitative qualification “Honorus" will be the responsibility of an board of examiners appointed by the Dean of the Faculty, at the proposal of the Quality Assurance Committee of the Degree, after hearing the degree coordinator. This board will be composed of three members: president, secretary and member.
All those DFP that have been graded with 9 or higher by their directors will be eligible for “Honours".
In these cases, it will be necessary to submit a specific request through the channels established by the Faculty. The calls for the defense of the DFP before a board will be established by the board of examiners through the Secretary's Office of the degree program.
